Geelong Radio and Electronics Society
Supporting all those interested in Amateur Radio and Electronics
Club Call Sign: VK3ANR Location: Australia QF21et
We used to have a clubhouse...
But we still exist...
But in December 2019 the City of Greater Geelong unexpectedly took possession of our wonderful old building and deemed it unsafe for use, which was strange as it had served us well for the previous 23 years.
So we were evicted – no more meeting rooms, no equipment workshop, storage, technical library, kitchen, rooftop antennas, historical museum – everything had to go! That location today (2024) is still vacant land…
Our Club continues, with an enthusiastic core of members meeting weekly on Tuesday evenings at the Annexe, South Barwon Community Centre, 33 Mt Pleasant Rd, Belmont, from 19:00 Hrs (7:00 pm).
We also provide an online Zoom option for those who may prefer not to attend in person.

GRES has existed since 1963 when a group of Amateur Radio and Electronics enthusiasts saw a need to share and extend their skills and knowledge in an ever-widening range of fields of electronics.
This continues today, as we offer members opportunities to learn about and share special interests in new technologies.

We celebrated our club’s 60th Anniversary in 2023!

We are interested not just in Amateur Radio and its many traditional and new digital modes, but also in a broad range of electronic applications such as Micro-controllers, 3D printing, Robotic devices and related software, as these become more accessible than ever to the ordinary person.

If you have an interest in or just a fascination about Electronics or Amateur Radio, why not contact us and join us for a coffee and chat.
